It looks like Raf Simons, not Marc Jacobs, will be chief designer of Christian Dior. The company is reportedly finalizing a deal with Simons after the continuous missteps of John Galliano’s temporary replacement, Bill Gaytten.
I think Raf Simons’ technical skills will be put into good use when it comes to the couture collection but it’s hard to imagine how his minimalism will come into terms with the romanticism of Galliano’s Dior.
