People have been saying that the dress Kate Middleton wore to the wedding of all weddings was too simple and that she could have gone further. In my opinion, first of all it was a smart decision for her to choose Alexander McQueen. It has made McQueen a household name and given Sarah Burton (who replaced McQueen after his untimely passing) a chance to shine. Until now, no one really knew who Burton was. I think this was a good opportunity for her to be introduced to the public and see her talent which is worthy of praise. Second, I think the dress will be classic, similar to that of Grace Kelly’s. As opposed to Princess Diana’s Valentino David Emanuel (sorry just realized this mistake) dress which screamed 80s, Kate’s will be something you can see 40 years from now and say that looks beyond.
The details of her McQueen gown are amazing. I saw a picture of the back of the gown which showed the craftsmanship of Sarah Burton with all the organza covered buttons and the bodice which fit perfectly well. I don’t know about you, but I thought that Princess Catherine’s wedding gown was a winner.
